We reported a few days ago that a group in Yakima was trying to convince Clint Didier to run as a write-in for Washington State’s Congressional 4th District. We reached out to Clint and, unfortunately, due to Washington State law, Clint is not eligible to run for that position as he is currently running for Franklin County Commissioner.
When we reached out to Clint, he gave us a nice message to share with you all:
I am honored to be have been approached to considered to lead in the 4th congressional, but now is not my time. I have committed to Franklin County and continue to push to make it accountable to the people as Commissioner.
Clint Didier
It’s not the news CD4 wanted to hear, but it doesn’t stop the need for a write-in candidate. With 50 of the 53 people who voted in our poll saying they will not vote for Dan Newhouse, we desperately need a third option. We will keep our ear to the ground to see if there are any possible write-in candidates that emerge. We are still hopeful.
We will still keep our other article posted as perhaps we can still convince Clint to run in 2024. Stay tuned for more info as we get it!
With all the commotion in the Congressional 4th District this year, six Republicans unsuccessfully tried to unseat Dan Newhouse. Leaving the 4th Congressional District upset and frustrated with their choices going into the general election.
The issue that Republicans have going forward is staying united. They want us to unite behind a candidate that we overwhelmingly don’t like. The same people who are telling Republicans to stay united seem to have forgotten all that Dan has done against his very own base. A candidate that voted to impeach their president. Why did Dan do that to one of our own? He wasn’t united behind a Republican. Then Dan went on to vote for funding a vaccine database and many other interesting votes. As many Republicans lost their jobs because of this failed vaccine mandate, I ask again, why should Republicans unite around him? How has he represented us?
The Republican party was united in 2021 when all 8 counties in CD4 voted to ask Dan for his resignation and publicly rebuked him. Some almost went as far as to censure him in their county. Those same people want unity? Do we have amnesia? ย A vote for Dan is a vote for Liz Cheney, a vote for Doug White is a vote for Pelosi. Not a fun choice for CD4.
So the question is will you vote for Dan Newhouse in this year’s election?
Cast your vote below and let us know. We are collecting lots of data right now to open discussions heading into this next election in November.

Residents in the 4th congressional district are pushing for another option. 75% of the votes cast in the August 2nd primary were not for incumbent Dan Newhouse. What can we say, the man is not liked. Just like everything else, we have another solution. One that is possible, with just the right help from the people.
A group approached us to help with organizing a movement to encourage Clint Didier to run as a write-in candidate in the General Election against Dan Newhouse in the 4th Congressional District. Since only Newhouse and White made it through the Primary, we want the voters to have another option.
So we are compiling a list of names, like a petition, to present to Clint.
Questions on why?
Q. Why can’t we write in Loren Culp or one of the other candidates who didn’t make it through the primary?
A. Any candidate who ran in this same race on the primary ballot is disqualified as a write-in candidate in the general election. A write-in candidate must file as a write-in and follow specific laws and steps in order to actually be eligible to win this race.
Q. Why Clint Didier?
A. Clint ran against Newhouse in the past and came close to winning 50% of the vote. He is well-known, he has what it takes to win, and he is a solid patriot. Dan Newhouse’s campaign ran slander ads against Didier, lying and scaring retirees into believing he was going to cut their Social Security checks, putting him just barely over the top to win.
Q. Is it even possible for a write-in candidate to win in a general election?
A. Yes! It has been done at least once in Washington State. It is a long shot, but if there has ever a time in history that it could happen, I believe it is now.
Q. But what if this just splits the vote and we end up with Doug White, the Democrat?
A. Yes, it’s a risk, but is a Newhouse win really better? It has been predicted that we will easily take back the House this year. Besides, many Republican voters are saying they won’t vote for Newhouse and would rather vote Democrat or abstain from this race. Having a write-in at least gives them a choice. We risk a Democrat win either way.
In Liberty, the Accurate Perspective Team!
FYI to all the 8 county Republican chairs who are upset by this motion. I am not sure why you are?Need I remind you, you had a chance to fix this before the primary and you didnโt. You said Trump didnโt select the winner of the 4th and fyi neither do you. With everything going on right now, the people want a true representative and this now rests in the hands of the people, have a good one ๐

With ballots arriving at your home now, many in Yakima have had to weave through who they should vote for. One of the most interesting and heated race in Yakima this year is the Congressional 4th District. With incumbent Dan Newhouse fighting to keep his seat with 6 Republican challengers and 1 Democrat challenger, we thought we’d break down each and the finances backing them to get a bigger picture.
I am a firm believer in following the money. Following the money can sometimes be quite daunting or confusing to understand. Here is our breakdown of each candidate, I hope this helps as you make your choice. Happy voting, Yakima!
